Welcome weeks

Information to help you get the most of university life.

Welcome to Coventry

It's almost time for you to join us and we want to make sure your first weeks go smoothly.

To help you prepare, we have created an online induction. The induction gives you a head start and helps you to learn more about what university life is like, the exciting opportunities it offers and what resources are there to help you. You can also find the answers to many questions you may have and chat with other new students before you get here. To access the online induction, you will need a username and password, which you should receive via email following online enrolment or registration, so make sure you check your email regularly for important updates.

While you are waiting to get access to the induction, there are a few things you can do.

Please read our safety guides:

Secure your accommodation

If you have not yet organised your accommodation, don't worry. Visit our Accommodation web pages for more information on the options available to you, or contact our Customer Service Representatives, who are happy to talk you through the options available.

University Halls:

If you have already received and accepted an offer for University-owned accommodation, information on your next steps, including how to collect your key is available on our Accommodation web pages. Don’t forget that your accommodation is not secured until you have accepted your offer, paid the deposit and selected a payment plan.

If you are staying in university-owned accommodation, make sure you read the FutureLets Licence to Occupy.

If you would prefer to stay in private rented accommodation such as shared houses or studio apartments, please visit our dedicated website.

Coventry University Students’ Union (CUSU) also provides housing information, including advice on finding a room or a roommate, housing deposits, inventories, moving in and your rights and responsibilities.

Check your student fees and finance

You will need to make arrangements to pay for your course and living costs such as accommodation, open a bank account, make sure you are aware of other costs such as council tax and plan a budget.

  • Find out more about course fees, making payments, scholarships, loans and other sources of financial help:
  • The easiest way to pay your tuition or accommodation fees is online - please ensure you specify what the payment is for in the description box.
  • Full tuition fee terms and conditions are available on the dedicated page. If you are an undergraduate student, check the support we provide through Flying Start.
  • If you have any questions at all, including worries about payments, you can speak to our Student Engagement Team by emailing or by phoning +44 (0) 24 7765 6565.
  • To set up a payment plan for your accommodation fees, email FutureLets at

  • There are lots of discounts available to students including rail travel, food, clothing, entertainment and leisure activities such as gym memberships; a quick search will show you just how many.
  • Coventry University Students’ Union (CUSU) also provides useful information on managing your money.

Help and guidance

Before you contact the SEC, you might like to check to see if your question has already been asked in our frequently asked questions.

How do I know that I have completed my enrolment?

You will receive an email confirming you have completed the enrolment process.

If this still doesn’t work, contact the SEC.

I can’t see my timetable

For new May intake students, we would be planning to release timetables during week commencing 3 May 2021.

If a student enrols before this date, it is irrelevant for their timetable as we would not have released the course timetables yet to any of the students.

Check you have finished enrolling.

Wait for your email confirming enrolment and then allow a further 48 hours, after which time you should be able to see your timetable.

If this still doesn’t work, contact the SEC.

Finance and fees

I have not been able to pay my fee

Please contact the SEC.

I think I have paid my fees but I am not sure. How can I be certain?

Please contact the SEC.

International queries (CAS, BRP cards, etc)

I am an international student and am still awaiting details of my CAS and BRP card

Please contact the SEC/ Info Point who can advise.

Access to content/modules

I can log into AULA but can’t access any other information

For international students, you will only be able to log into AULA initially. You will have access to your timetable and other resources within 48 hours of completing enrolment and the timetabling team releasing the timetable

For more information, please contact the SEC.

COVID-19 queries

Do I need to wear a face covering? How do I access a test for asymptomatic testing?

We have a specific web section for all queries relating to COVID-19.

You can also find information on the Coventry University Intranet (Login required).

If you still cannot find the information you require, then please contact the SEC.

Order your Student ID card

Your student ID card is very important; it gives you access to university buildings and accommodation, is used to register your attendance at classes and gives you access to printing as well as a range of student discounts. You also need to have been issued your student ID before your student loan will be released.

After enrolment you will be emailed a link to order your Student ID card online. You will need to upload a photo of yourself and of your passport (or similar) to verify your identity. All being well, your ID card will be sent to you in the post in May – so make sure you give us the address you will be living at while studying with us. Download the Accepted Proof of Identity and Nationality guide for further guidance.

If you are an international student and have arrived in the UK, your documents will need to be checked before you will receive an email to apply for your Student ID.

Online or distance students will not need a student ID card unless you want to access campus facilities and services. For more information, email
